Program Director

Angela Fisher

“I love working with the women of Gateway to Discovery. The best part of working in a Faith Based environment is knowing that God has a plan that allows me to use my own life experiences as an encouragement to others. God has called us to be sisters in Christ and Gateway provides that opportunity for growth in our sisterhood with the women that come to us.

As the song goes, “Our God is an Awesome God". He has proven to be faithful to me in my own trials.  That being said, we all have to own up to our responsibility in taking the steps that are put in front of us. Hand in hand, we can build new paths, and at Gateway we do it  with love, guidance and encouragement, one day at a time!"

Studio Coordinator

Janelle Cravens

“Working in the Hope Sweet Hope Studio has provided me with such an insight to the women of Gateway to Discovery. When we work in the studio, we aren’t just making paper or sewing or crafting a new jewelry item. We are building confidence, providing joy through a creative process and encouraging new social skills that may have fallen to the wayside. When the women come to the studio, they learn so much more about themselves and know that they are strengthening themselves…one bead, one handmade card, one petal at a time."

Janelle is a native of Fort Dodge and attended Iowa Central Community College then transferred to Buena Vista University, Storm Lake, and received her B.A. degree in Mass Communication. She is actively involved as Youth Director at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge and is secretary for the Fort Dodge Noon Kiwanis. She is married to David and has two children, Natalie and Ryan.
